Today 19 June is World Sauntering Day. Not a sashay nor a prance, not a trot nor a wander, but a saunter. The day is believed to have originated at the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island, Michigan which has the world’s longest porch at 660 feet in length. The day is designed to encourage people to slow down, appreciate the day and smell the roses. So roses offset with black silk chord is the wrapping for today. And don’t forget to sit a spell.
