Pleasing Pleats

Today 5 July we celebrate family days when generations get together, everyone brings something and the children run around having the time of their lives. We’ve wrapped a beautiful homemade strawberry jam that didn’t last long when the scones came out. It gave us an opportunity to use our skills in wrapping a jar or cylinder, which is really easy if you know a few of the tips for pleating around the top and base. The main thing is to measure the paper each end of the cylinder to exactly half way across the circle plane. then bring each fold to the exact centre of the circle. So here’s to big family gatherings and big tables of afternoon tea.
