Richard III rules

Today’s wrap references the Fleur-de-lys symbol that forms such an important part of history and heraldry. This day 6 July in 1483 was the coronation of Richard III … Yes that Richard “a horse! a horse A kingdom for my horse”. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet Dynasty. Besides being portrayed by Shakespeare as particularly nasty, Richard III made more recent headlines when it was confirmed in 2013 his body had been found in a car park in Leicester. You couldn’t make it up!!! But he did make up his own Coat of Arms which featured among other things white boar and the fashionable French symbol of the times – the Fleur-de-lys. It is one of our favourite symbols and patterns and works well in all its variations (particularly black and white) for men’s gifts
