It has long been accepted that Julius Caesar was born on 12 July 100BC. He is without doubt Ancient Rome’s most significant figure given his accomplishments as a politician, general and ruler. He’s even got his own month; Quintilis, the month in which Caesar was born was renamed Julius (July) in his honour. So birthday wishes to the man who famously proclaimed after a decisive military campaign “Vendi, vidi, vici” or “I came, I saw, I conquered”. To achieve the 3D Caesar wreath I copied a wreath pattern onto green paper and carefully cut around it before giving the leaves a bit of a roll and height. I placed it against a white gloss wrap – which was not my original intention but other options were just too busy and didn’t allow the green wreath to pop – so I pared it right back. I think this look could also work for Christmas.
