On this day each year the French celebrate La Fete National – the National Celebration. The day is also commonly referred to as La Quatorze Julliet (the 14th of July). The French National Day commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789 as well as the Fete de la Federation which marks the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France with fireworks at La Tour Eiffel a highlight. We love this black and white paper appropriately called Paris which takes on a suitably sultry look when teamed with a grosgrain black ribbon.
