It’s Lighthouse Day today 7 August. It’s a day to shine a big bright light on the lighthouses that help those at sea find their way. The lighthouse has featured as a motif for many centuries and can be found in many forms of expression such as embroidery and quilting. We have used the lighthouse quilt pattern which deploys geometric shapes to reference the directional light of the light house. Don’t discount the quilting pattern as a starting point for a themed wrap because it usually encompasses bold shapes and a simplified yet clever repeating pattern.
