Today 11 November is Remembrance Day. At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month we stop to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Our wrap features red poppies reminiscent of those waving in fields of Flanders against a red background with sprigs of Rosemary. It takes me to the time my husband and I were cycling in Flanders. He was very interested in the battle fields as his paternal grandfather had fought and was decorated there. The Australian war cemeteries are beautiful if you can call a cemetery beautiful, with haunting reminders of young men never to return home. When my husband chatted with the locals about his grandfather they would always quietly ask “Is he still here?” Their way of asking is he buried in Flanders. Lest we Forget.
