God rest ye merry, gentlemen

Did you know that 20 December is officially Go Carolling Day…. A day to join with others to sing some of your favourite Christmas tunes with gusto if not skill. I love the traditional carols, especially God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen not the least because it traditionally has a comma between the Merry and the Gentlemen and I do love a good comma. Experts say this Carol was first published in 1833 when it appeared in “Christmas Carols Ancient and Modern”. The traditional olde English lyrics lyrics go way way back to the fifteenth century though the author is not known. This wrap shows you how effective sheet music (copyright respected) can be. As to the featured carollers…any resemblance to any person living or dead is entirely coincidental.
