Today 22 December is the birthday of late twin brothers Maurice and Robin Gibb – two thirds of the famous trio the Bee Gees. The pair were born 35 minutes apart on this day in 1949 on the Isle of Man – does that make them Manx Men? Vocalist and key board/bassist (respectively) they sang in various bands for years before hitting number 1 in the UK with Spicks and Specks. I was going to wrap with the lyrics of Spicks and Specks because I love the tune but when I read them closely…mmmm a bit too depressing. Many say the high point of their career was the Saturday Night Fever album which thanks to the mean falsetto voices sold a staggering 30 million copies world wide. The Bee Gees have oodles of funky numbers and everyone has their own favourite. I am honouring these golden boys’ birthday with a Christmas feel through a bespoke Bee Gees gift tag atop a gold belli band and a striking gold pattern. The memories live on.
