I do love wrapping with tourist maps and ephemera. It is really colourful and sends a special message about the place a gift was bought. I just had to get past the fact that a real map has deeply ingrained fold marks …but if you want authenticity then you get the folds and a little bit of wear and tear if the map was used as this one was. So today 10 January I have a gift from Bangkok for a special young lady who had just celebrated her 14th birthday. No hints other than the shape and the fact it’s from Thailand and it’s fabric. The map is from The Grand Palace and the ornate ribbon reflects the stunning gold work on the many temples and buildings within the precinct.
