Gong xi fa cai!

On the Chinese calendar 2016 is the year of the Red Fire Monkey, starting from today 8 February and ending on Chinese New Year 27 January 2017.

The Monkey is ninth of the 12 animals in the recurring 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle. Fun monkey fact….monkey years are all multiples of 12 — from 12 AD, through 1200 AD, to 2016. Element-sign combinations come around every 60 years. Secondly there is the long list of do’s and don’t s. I was worried my wrap would inadvertently stray into some of the things on the don’t list, and I did not want to offend anyone.  So I stuck to new year reds and golds as well as some fabulous monkeys which the light made look a little bit more orange than red but which had great shape and cheeky form. Oh ….and for those of you who want to explore more about what you can and cannot do this year….read on
