Today 26 March is Purple Day – a global initiative to raise awareness of epilepsy. This year Purple Day falls slap bang in the middle of the Easter break so it’s even more important we give a shout out to this very worthy day. It’s a golden opportunity to colour your world purple and take action for epilepsy.
Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects between 1 and 2 per cent of the population. It knows no boundaries – epilepsy can affect any age group, race, gender or age group.
Canadian Cassidy Megan created Purple Day in 2008. Motivated by her own struggles with the condition, her goal was to raise awareness of epilepsy to dispel myths and to support those with seizures through knowing they are not alone.
Today I’m wrapping my world purple with bold purple patterned wrapping paper courtesy of Lia Griffith and even bolder gold ribbons. A striking combination to catch your eye for this worthy cause. Donate today at http://www.epilepsy.org.au
