Today 23 August is the start of National Op Shop Week. The week is designed to showcase the importance of op shops to community work, to the environment through up cycling and recycling and to creativity and fashion. So I spent the weekend combing local op shops and came across some vintage sheet music at Vinnies for 50 cents ( we also stocked up on books, vinyl records and teapots). So a special Op shop wrap to the music of “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”. I do like the pin wheel embellishment. Pin wheels are relatively easy to make provided you think through the weight of the paper you use and the pattern on it. I think I’ll do a few more and really focus on the joins of the pin wheel and maybe covering or further embellishing the centrefold.
