Today 24 November is the birthday of Charles Darwin. My first thoughts went to the iconic pictures of man progressing through the ages but when you see that as the daily home page image of Google you know there has to be another angle. So I narrowed it down to the Beagle (don’t like to show off I sailed the Beagle Channel in January) or the finch because without Darwin’s beak comparison where would the theory of evolution be?? The finch won because there are no end of drawings of it to create a vintage botanical look. Add in a beautiful ribbon in aqua on one side and the brightest of green on the other and you have a Darwin special. Tying a bow with a satin ribbon with a different colour on each side still takes a bit if twisting and turning but if you’re aware of it when you are tying you can do it.
